Event Notes:

DEVIL's Hole

8:30 am Start

Your choice of a Challenging 6.4 mile, 2100 ft, or moderate 4.6 mile, 1100ft hike up to EBRPD Las Trampas Rocky Ridge.

This two-for-one hike heads out on Bollinger Creek Loop, Elderberry, and Rocky Ridge View Trails to the Ridge where the longer hike will descend to Devil's Hole on the Devil's Hole Trail before ascending on the Sycamore Trail.

The shorter hike will continue on Rocky Ridge View past the Sycamore Trail.

Once back on the ridge both groups will converge on the Rocky Ridge View Trail before descending to the parking lot.

Many different routes from the parking lot. Specific route is described in Event Notes. Water and restroom in parking lot. Dogs off-leash are OK on the trails.

From 680 Southbound: Take exit 36 for Crow Canyon Rd for 0.1 mi Turn right onto Crow Canyon Rd for 1.1 mi Turn right onto Bollinger Canyon Rd for 4.1 mi to end of road and turn left into parking lot. From 680 Northbound: Take exit 36 for Crow Canyon Rd for 0.3 mi Turn left onto Crow Canyon Rd for 1.3 mi Turn right onto Bollinger Canyon Rd for 4.1 mi to end of road and turn left into parking lot. From I-580 in Castro Valley: Take Crow Canyon Road north to Bollinger Canyon Road. Turn left onto Bollinger Canyon Rd for 4.1 mi to end of road and turn left into parking lot.
