Join us for a somewhat laborious hike the day before Labor Day at9:00 am in Morgan Territory. We'll explore some of the far eastern trails on a hiker's choice of a short 7.4 mile/1400' moderate+ hike or a long 9.4/2000' challenging hike. *Note: The long hike is an out and back segment to explore Hog Canyon.
Hike begins on Volvon, left to stay on Volvon, right on Blue Oak, right on Miwok, left on Manzanita, right on Valley View, right on Volvon Loop. We'll take a break near a stone outcrop overlooking the Delta.
Both hikes continue on Volvon Loop, the short hike will continue straight then left on Volvon, then left on Blue Oak, right on Hummingbird, left on Volvon, right on Prairie Falcon, right for a very short time on Volvon, then a quick right on Condor. Cross the bridge then right to the gate and left after the gate to stay below the pond and on back to the parking lot.
The long hike continues on Volvon Loop from the break, hard right on Eagle, right on Hog Canyon to the boundary. Retrace your steps back to where the short hike split and follow directions for the short hike return.
Detailed directions and maps will be available and the trail will be marked along the route. DOGS welcome. Facilities at the trailhead. Pit toilets available throughout the park. See you at9:00 am!!!
