Event Notes:

A 9 mile, 1,400-foot elevation gain balloon hike in Livermore's Brushy Peak Regional Preserve. Route will be Dyer Ranch Trail, Laughlin Ranch Loop Trail, lower West Side Loop Trail, Brushy Peak Loop Trail stopping to rest/snack on the rocks at the peak. Return continues down Brushy Peak Loop Trail, Tamcan Trail, Laughlin Ranch Loop Trail and Dyer Ranch Trail back to the start. No facilities at trailhead but bathroom at the 2.2 mile mark. Dogs required on leash for the entIre hike. NOTE 8:30 AM START TIME

EBRPD's Brushy Peak Regional Preserve in Livermore has added a new trailhead. In addition to the original Laughlin Ranch Staging Area, you can now access the park on Dyer Ranch Trail located across from Bluffs Drive and adjacent to 5 Pillars Cemetery.

Use 2106 Bluffs Drive, Livermore for GPS. From I-580 exit north at Vasco Road and immediately turn right (east) onto Northfront Road. From East Contra Costa County, drive south on Vasco Road. At the traffic light just before I-580 turn left (east) onto Northfront Road. After 0.8 mile on Northfront Road turn left onto Laughlin Road. Go 1 mile and turn left onto Bluffs Drive. Street parking only and only on one side of the street. If you arrive at the ranger station at the end of Laughlin Road you have gone 1 mile too far.
