Turn right into parking lot.

From San Ramon/Dublin, take Hwy 680 North towards Walnut Creek. Or from Berkeley/Orinda, take Hwy 24 East towards Walnut Creek. Exit at Ygnacio Valley Road. At bottom of offramp (stoplight) turn right onto Ygnacio Valley Road, follow until you reach Civic Drive. Left at Civic. Event Notes:

Carpool meets at 10am, arriving at the park at 11am. There are two parking areas, the one we will start at is the rectangular one up top to the right of the entrance kiosk. The hike should be about 4-5 miles, but very leisurely because there are lots of cool buildings and things. So it could take until about 4pm, getting home around 5pm I'd estimate.

Trail Notes:

A quiet Sonoma Valley Sanctuary set in the Glen Ellen area, a place Jack London called "The Valley of the Moon". This hike will will take us to the Summit of the park, approximately four miles there and back with an 1800 ft elevation gain. We will hit as many historical sites as possible along the way. Afterwards, we can visit Jack's home and gravesite.

UPDATE! Brian informs me that from the map description, which he didn't see before, that the hike to the summit is a "strenuous 6.6 mile hike". So at least a portion of this hike might be tougher than at first thought.
