A 6-mile loop hike with a 1000-foot elevation gain. An optional extension adds one mile for a 7-mile hike. Route is via Volvon, Blue Oak, and Volvon Loop trails to the junction of the Volvon Loop and Eagle Trail. The 6-mile hike will continue on the Volvon Loop, Stone Corral and Coyote trails to the staging area. The longer hike will take the Eagle, Highland Ridge, Stone Corral and Coyote trails to the staging area. There will be a short rest/snack stop near the midpoint restroom. From I-580 in Livermore, exit onto N. Livermore Ave. and turn north. Shortly after N. Livermore curves left (west), turn right onto Morgan Territory Road and follow it 10.7 miles to the staging area. From Walnut Creek/Concord, take Clayton Road to Marsh Creek Road, then turn right onto Morgan Territory Road. The staging area is 9.4 miles from Marsh Creek Road.
