Join us at 9:00am for a hike through the northeast side of Briones. A hiker's choice of a moderately challenging 6 mile/1600', a challenging 7.8 mile/2100', or a difficult 9 mile/2300'.

Please download and print out the trail route map here. Route will be Diablo View, left on Spengler, right on Table Top Connector and then the first break. Continue right on No Name Trail all the way past the Maricich Lagoons, left on Spengler to Old Briones Road. The hikes diverge here. The short hike continues right on Old Briones Road Trail. Once you reach the parking area, there is a single track that parallels the road on the left. Follow it down until a T-intersection with Pine Tree Trail turning right on the roadway and following it down a quarter mile to make a right on Orchard Trail and back to the start.

The medium and long hikes turn left on Old Briones Road Trail, right on Briones Crest and Break #2 at Sindicich Lagoons. The hikes diverge here. The medium hike turns right on Lagoon Trail, right on Toyon Canyon, left on Pine Tree down past the Park Office and road, continuing on Orchard Trail, across Old Briones Road and straight back to the start.

The long hike stays on Briones Crest and right on Lagoon Trail #2, left on Toyon Canyon, left on Pine Tree down past the Park Office and road, continuing on Orchard Trail, across Old Briones Road and straight back to the start.

Trail Notes:

Briones' 6,255 acres are home to many animals and birds, which forage on the grasslands or find shelter among the oaks and bays. You may see black-tailed deer, coyotes, squirrels, red-tailed hawks, turkey vultures, and, if you are lucky, other more reclusive creatures. There are gorgeous wildflower displays in season.
