Trail Notes:

This is an approximately 2 hour moderate hike covering a little over 2.25 miles. We will combine portions of Bayview, Lizard Rock, Chochenyo, Nike, Red Hill, Soaproot, and Quail trails to achieve a loop which will provide 360-degree views the extend from San Francisco to the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Directions to Trailhead:

From Walnut Creek, take I-680 South toward San Jose, then I-580 West toward Oakland/Hayward. Take the left fork onto I-238 North toward I-880. Merge onto I-880 South toward San Jose/San Mateo Bridge. Follow for 10 miles, then take the CA-84 West exit toward San Jose/San Mateo Bridge.

From Hwy 84 at the east end of the Dumbarton Bridge in Fremont, take the Thornton Avenue/Paseo Padre Pkwy exit, and go another 1.1 miles on Paseo Padre Pkwy to Patterson Ranch Rd. Turn left, and go half a mile to the entrance kiosk. Another 1.0 mile brings you to the parking area for the visitor center.
