A 5-mile, 1000-foot elevation gain loop hike, which will be extended to about 8 miles for those wanting more exercise. The hike starts on the Hardy Canyon Trail and ascends to the high point, where we will take a short rest/snack stop and enjoy the view before descending to the Miwok Trail. The shorter hike will take the Miwok Trail inbound for the 1.7-mile return to the staging area. The longer hike will take the Miwok Trail outbound and turn right onto the Murphy Meadow Trail. Slightly past the junction with the Fox Tail Trail cross the creek on the new bridge to the Miwok Trail for the return to the staging area. Water and restrooms are available at the staging area. Dogs are not allowed in Round Valley. For GPS or map users the address of the staging area is 19450 Marsh Creek Road in Brentwood.Contact: Howard
