A two-version loop hike. The full version is a strenuous, almost 7-mile, 2100-foot elevation gain, loop hike to Devils Hole, the lowest point in the park. The lite version is about 5-miles long with a 1000-foot elevation gain. The.lite route is via the Ridge View Trail (paved road to Comm tower), continuing past the Sycamore Trail to the Elderberry Trail for the downhill return to the parking lot. Plan on a short rest/snack stop on the Ridge. The full Devils Hole route will be the same, except it will turn off on the Sycamore Trail for the descent to Devils Hole, where there will be a short rest/snack stop. Then return up the Devils Hole Trail to the Rocky Ridge Trail, continuing on to the Elderberry Trail for the return to the parking lot. Water and toilets at the parking lot. Dog friendly, off-leash is OK on the trails.
