Trail Notes:

This is an all day hike of approximately 20 miles with an elevation gain of about 3250 ft. Be prepared for mud, drizzle, ice and even snow with potential temperatures below freezing. Both narrow and wide trails, steep rocky areas and flat. Bring plenty of food and water. For me, this will be a very challenging hike.

Heading out from the Mountaire Pkwy trail head, we will take Donner Canyon trail, cut up middle trail to Prospector's Gap. From there we take North Peak trail to the summit. We will return by taking Juniper trail through the campground and down to Deer Flat via Deer Flat trail. From there we link back up with Donner via Meridian trail and return to the parking area.

Directions to Trailhead:

From Walnut Creek: From I-680, exit at Ygnacio Valley Road. Proceed on Ygnacio Valley Road to Clayton Road in Concord and turn right (east). Turn Right onto Marsh Creek Road. At 4-way stop, turn RIGHT onto MOUNTAIRE PKWY. Follow to the End.
