This is a fun hike on a part of Shell Ridge you are probably not familiar with. It is not difficult.

Trail Notes:

Hike is about 5 miles over rolling hills. It is not difficult. Mostly sun and fire roads. We stop mid way at Borges Ranch for snacks and restrooms. No services at the start point. Dogs are welcome and are allowed off leash. Hike is a loop. Corral Springs to Deer Lake to Upper Buck to Castanoan to Hanna Lane to Borges. We return by Briones/Mt Diablo to Indian Creek.


Directions to Trailhead:

From 680 you want to exit east onto Ygnacio Valley Rd. About 1 mile to Homestead. Right turn. The street before is Walnut Blvd. About 1/4 mile to Marshall on your left. About 1 mile to the end of the road. Street parking.
