Trail Notes:

This hiking, biking, and equestrian trail connects Las Trampas Regional Wilderness to Mt. Diablo State Park. It passes through Hap Magee Ranch Park, under I-680, weaves its way over the ridges across Stone Valley Road in Alamo, ascends the grassland and chaparral-dotted slopes overlooking the valley, and enters Mt. Diablo State Park at Macedo Ranch Gate. Passing through residential and open space areas, it provides convenient access and offers an interesting contrast between residential development and parkland.

Directions to Trailhead:

Traveling North on 680 take the El Cerro Rd exit turn right onto El Cerro at the light. Turn right onto La Gonda Way at the second light. The park is on the left after the stop sign on La Gonda Way. Traveling South on 680 take the El Pintado Rd exit turn right onto El Pintado. Turn right onto La Gonda Way at the stop sign. The park is on the left after the stop sign on La Gonda Way. Free parking is available either in the Hap Magee Ranch Park parking lot, or along La Gonda Way (residential street).
