Starting at 9:30 am from EBMUD Briones Overlook Staging Area is a choice of a moderate 7.5-mile or shorter 6-mile out- and-back hike along EBMUD Briones Reservoir on the mostly shaded Bear Creek Trail. The longer 7.5-mile hike proceeds to the EBMUD Bear Creek Staging Area while the shorter 6-mile hike turns back at the 3-mile gate. Please either print out or download to your phone the trail route map here.

Route will be through the gate onto the Bear Creek Trail to the gate at 3-miles. The short hike will take a short rest/snack break before returning to the staging area.

The longer hike will continue through the gate and turn left before reaching the road to cross the stream right before arriving at the Bear Creek parking lot.

After a short rest/snack stop, return to the Briones Overlook Staging Area parking lot.
