About a 5.2 mile, 750 foot elevation gain loop hike starting from Oakland's Joaquin Miller Park Ranger Station. This short and mostly shady hike should be a good antidote for Thursday's high temps. Route will be Sinawik Trail, Sunset Trail, Sequoia-Bayview Trail, Castle Park Trail, Connector Trail to Moon Gate, West Ridge Trail stopping to rest/snack at Redwood Bowl. Return through PAL Camp crossing over Skyline Blvd., Big Trees Trail, Palos Colorados Trail and Sanborn Road back to the parking area. Water/toilets at trailhead and Redwood Bowl.
