Search for Running Water (Take 2)

A moderate 6.8 or 7.6 mile 1100 ft. hike of EBRPD Redwood Regional Park.

We'll start from the Canyon Meadows Parking lot and head up the Stream Trail searching for treasures. Turning left on Tres Sendas Trail up to West Ridge Trail watching for fallen trees along the way.
Left again on West Ridge Trail into the Redwood Bowl to stop to snack.

After the break, when the sun comes out or the rain has stopped, we'll head down the West Ridge Trail to descend on Chown Trail.

The shorter hike will turn right on Bridle to Stream Trails back to the parking lot.

The longer hike will turn right on French Trail and descend on the Orchard Trail to Bridle and Stream Trails back to the cars.

Please 'DO GO INTO THE Park Entrance' and drive to the end of the road and park at Canyon Meadows Parking Lot.

PLEASE NOTE: You currently can NOT access the park on Redwood Road from Castro Valley.

Directions to Trailhead:

From Hwy 580 North, take Hwy 13, exit at Redwood Road. Turn right onto Redwood Road. Or from Walnut Creek, take Hwy 24 West towards Oakland/Berkeley. After the Caldecutt Tunnel, take Hwy 13 South towards Hayward. Exit at Redwood Road. Turn left.

Proceed up the hill and crest over the top of the hill. From the crest it is 5 - 7 minutes to the entrance, which will be on your left side.
